spring is in the air

Hello everyone, and welcome back today!

Also on my second card for today I used some new stamps. I don’t know how about you, but I am more than ready for spring, for warm weather, sunshine and blooming flowers. Well, it will take some more time until we’re there, so I made a spring-ish card to have at least some of the mentioned.

I made a square card and put a large doily in its middle. Onto the doily I’ve stamped the Letter Context stamp. I’ve die cut a circle from plain copy paper and used it as a mask so I was able to only stamp onto the middle of the doily and do so in a circle shape. I also put some lace – wide and small – onto the card and a die cut heart.

The butterfly and saying come in the same set as the roses. I’ve decided to stamp the saying onto a die cut flower pick to make it go with the garden theme of my card.

And these are the beautiful flowers from the Flowers Geranium and Roses stamp set. I fell in love with this set immediately. And I knew that I wanted the roses to be colored with quite some contrast in a really dark pink and light pink and with some white lines. Now they remind me of an really old sort of english roses – and I can  nearly smell them.

After coloring the roses in I used my scissors to cut them out and put them onto my card using dimensional tape.

See you all next time!

Hugs, Kathrin

Best Friends

Inlägget postat av on March 10, 2018 | | 435 kommentarer »

Hello everyone!

Today I have a card to share using one of the new stamps that came out beginning of last month – the Best Friends stamp set. And when I saw it for the first time, I thought of one of my daugthers immediately. She loves cats – and if the cat we owned when our girls were little would have been a little more friendly I’m sure we’d have taken a picture like this of him and our daughter.

The cat has such a friendly face – no wonder she’s carried around by her best friend!

I used Copics to color the image in and added a few details like the dots on the pockets with a white gelly marker. But I’m sure you want to see the whole card as well, right?

I used a square with large scallops as the card base and added a large die cut heart on top of it. I love the color combo of green, blue and white, so that’s all I used here.

Behind the image I’ve added a hearts background and I also added a doily, some lace and cheesecloth to my card.

The saying comes in a set with the images, and it just was perfect for my card.

For decorations I used a few flowers in white and blue and a green meadow spray. And yes, there weren’t enough hearts on my card already so I added two more inbetween the flowers.

Hope to see you later today for my second card.

Hugs, Kathrin

Hi there!
For my second post today I have an easter tag for you.
This one is also in pink since I used my leftoverpapers from my card earlier today.
My thought is that you can have this on maby a bottle of vine, a present or so on.
I colored the other easterstamp in this set of 2 in pink colors today, beacuse a chicken/rooster can be pink to, right!? 😉
I also used the small banner in this set of 2 banners from Vilda stamps.
I hope you will like it. I love using up my leftovers for small cards, tags and so on.
It´s a perfect way if you don´t want to throw it away or let it be in a box not knowing what to do with the leftovers…
So Enjoy!

Have a nice day!

Dagens andra hälsning från påskharen

Inlägget postat av on March 4, 2018 | | 1 kommentar »

Hej igen!

Hej allesammans!

Hello Again Everyone! I am back today to share with you another card that I created using the Gorgeous new Flowers Geranium and Roses stamp from Vilda Stamps.

Products used:

Flowers Geranium and Roses stamp V861

Coloring Details:

Zig Clean Color Real Brushes

Rose: Carmine Red, Light Carmine, Light Pink, Pale Green, Light Green, May Green, Lemon Yellow

Butterfly: Lemon Yellow, Lilac, Light Pink, Dark Gray

Distress Oxide Ink

Background of Sentiment: Abandon Coral, Picked Rasberries

To create my card first I stamped the Gorgeous Roses in different positions onto 300 lb. watercolor paper. I then used Zig Clean Color Brushes and a water brush to color the roses in. I then trimmed down my card base and inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

For the sentiment, I die cut a circle and then stamped the Garden of Flowers sentiment in the center. I then used used Distress Oxide Ink in Abandon Coral and Picked Rasberries to blend color onto just the top right and bottom of the circle blending to white in the center. I then sprayed a mini mister over the area with water to create a textured effect.

To assemble my card I used foam tape to add each layer to my card base for some extra dimension. To finish I added some Morning Dew clear Nuvo Drops to a few of the petals and the background to simulate dew drops.

Thank you so very much for stopping by! I hope that my card has inspired you to try out your own creations using these Gorgeous Vilda stamps! You can find the entire line of Vilda Stamps as well as other fabulous stamps, dies and coloring mediums available now in the Engstroms Artstudio AB Shop!
