Christmas – or not?

Hello everyone!

Welcome back today here at the Vildastamps Blog.

Well, it’s a time of year where it sometimes can be hard to decide what theme to pick for your card. Christmas and Valentine’s are over, Easter will still be a little away… So I went through all my Vildastamps stamps and came across this Christmas Tree V192 stamp. I love it, but it always looked a little sad to me for a christmas card. But now I came up with this:

We always have a real tree for christmas. And every year in january it makes me sad to have to put it down. This stamp reminded me of what it would look like if it’d still be up in our living room…

I colored the image in with Copics. And since it was naked there neede to be needles somewhere. So I’ve drawn a big pile of them scattered all around the tree.

And the saying from the English Christmas Lyrics V804 stamp set was a perfect match for the image and my idea behind it. Inspired by Charles Dickens to me it means “no matter what season – or what your tree looks like -, everyday can be christmas as long as you keep christmas in the heart”.

I’ve split the image up to make it fit onto my card and used markers to ink it up for stamping. This made it possible to stamp the stars in yellow and the script in black ink.

Hope you liked my projects today and next month there will be a more seasonal card be shown by me.

Have a happy time!

Hugs, Kathrin
